The Soundcraft Ui16 is a 16-input remote-controlled digital mixer operated entirely from a tablet, smartphone, laptop, or PC — no physical faders required. Its cross-platform app works over the built-in Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet and supports up to 10 control devices simultaneously, so an engineer can walk the room with a tablet while band members check their own monitor mixes. Despite its compact, floor-ready chassis, the Ui16 carries serious processing. Inputs comprise eight XLR combo mic/line jacks, four additional XLR mic inputs, and two Hi-Z/instrument channels, all with fully recallable, remote-controlled preamp gain and phantom power. Every input channel gets 4-band parametric EQ, a hi-pass filter, gate, and compressor, backed by built-in Harman processing including dbx AFS2 automatic feedback suppression, DigiTech amp modelling, and three dedicated Lexicon effects busses covering reverb, delay, and chorus. All outputs offer 31-band graphic EQ, gating, compression, and a real-time frequency analyser on inputs and outputs. Connectivity includes four balanced XLR aux outputs, two quarter-inch headphone outputs with level control, balanced stereo XLR and quarter-inch main outputs, and a two-channel USB media player and recorder supporting MP3, WAV, and AIFF.
