Its fanned-fret design runs from a 33.6-inch scale on the highest string to 35.5 inches on the lowest, equalising string tension for an open, alive tone and improved intonation across the entire neck. Despite the unusual fret layout, the ergonomic design feels natural within minutes of picking the instrument up. The three-dimensionally arched body combines a poplar burl top with an okoume body laminated over walnut, attached to a slim five-piece jatoba/walnut SRMS6 neck with a bound panga panga fingerboard and custom acrylic inlays. Two passive Bartolini BH2 pickups deliver a warm, punchy, balanced response, while the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ adds an EQ bypass switch, passive tone control and a three-way mid-frequency selector. The MR5S mono-rail bridge isolates each string for direct vibration transfer and allows adjustable string spacing.
