The Allen & Heath ZED-16FX is a multipurpose USB mixer with built-in effects, offering 10 full mono channels and 3 stereo channels in a compact, rack-mountable chassis. It gives musicians, small venues, hire companies and churches professional channel count and effects without needing to haul separate outboard gear. Each of the 10 DuoPre preamps provides up to 69 dB of gain, handling everything from quiet spoken word to hot line-level sources. The responsive 3-band EQ includes a sweepable mid-range, and channels feature inserts, mutes and high-pass filters. A single USB lead carries CD-quality audio to and from any PC or Mac for stereo recording and playback, while the onboard 16-program time-delay FX engine with tap-tempo delay replaces a standalone effects unit. Aux sends accommodate stage monitors, and a 2-track return plus stereo record output round out connectivity. Supplied with Cakewalk Sonar LE software for recording out of the box.
